BASIC FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Buffet Runner is responsible for the setting up of the buffet line, delivering the food and maintaining the appropriate amount of food during the meal. The Buffet Runner then is responsible for cleaning and sanitizing of the buffet line.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
•Set up and maintain buffets under the supervision of the Buffet Supervisor.
•Deliver serving pans of hot and cold food items from the kitchen and insert into the buffet line.
•Replenish hot and cold food items on buffet, keep pans full, clean, and attractive during entire meal period.
•Carve meat on the buffet line and serve to guests. Serve other food items on the buffet line to guests.
•Serve food in proper portions onto proper receptacles.
•Ensure the quality of food items offered.
•Communicate to the kitchen about volume of guests and food levels.
•Safely handle hot items with care.
•Maintain cleanliness of buffet line during the meal period.
•Remove left over food items from buffet line at the end of a meal.
•Ensure all stations are properly broken down and reusable items are returned to the main kitchen.

•Clean buffet food line and equipment at the end of meal.
•Return equipment and supplies to storage areas.
•Check and ensure the correctness of the temperature of appliances and food.
•Check the working condition of equipment and machinery in accordance with specifications.
•Keep refrigerators and storerooms clean and neat. Ensure food and supply items are stored per standards. Maintain proper condition, storage, servicing and cleanliness of buffet equipment.
•Wash and disinfect buffet area, tables, tools, knives, and equipment.
•Climb up and down stairs while carrying trays, buffet equipment/supplies or food.
•Set up, breakdown and carry tables in a safe manner.
•Work productively and efficiently with or without supervision when performing routine tasks.
•Adhere to Mohonk Mountain House’s Dress and Grooming Standards; present a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance and maintain a positive, professional image to our customers.
•Inspect work by touch, sight, sound and smell for conformance to prescribed standards of cleanliness.
•Speak, read, and write in English and communicate in a clear and congenial manner, with our guests, visitors and employees. Hear verbal instructions, directions and warnings.
•Reach with hands and arms, bends, kneels, stoops, twist and flex arms, walk up and down stairs/inclines, sit, and stand for up to 5 hours at a time.
•Lift up to 50 lbs from ground level to waist height and from waist height to shoulder height and carry up to 100 feet without assistance. Walk up to 7 miles per shift.
•Maneuver carts or dollies safely with loads up to 200 pounds up and down stairs, elevators, through passageways or outdoors up to 75 yards. Carry in public areas of the hotel.
•Wear Mohonk Mountain House approved safety shoes, and proper safety equipment when performing tasks that recommend such equipment.
•See close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
•Learn and retain knowledge of historical facts and information about Mohonk Mountain House.
•Learn and successfully demonstrate the Mohonk Mountain House Service Steps with Service Strategies with guests and staff.
•Act calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
•Analyze problems and develop and implement action plans to address problems.
•Answer guest questions with accurate information and demonstrate a friendly and helpful personality by smiling, eye contact, initiating conversation and engaging with others.
•Maintain a flexible work schedule including days/nights, weekdays/weekends, holidays and during peak periods of business.
•Perform basic mathematical functions such as addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.
•Operate vehicles safely while driving and/or parking in compliance with Mohonk Mountain House Traffic Rules and Regulations.
QUALIFICATIONS:

Job Summary
The Tuxedo Club is searching for customer service driven Servers and Food Runners to join our team! The club has full-time, part-time, and banquet schedules available for those who want to deliver exceptional member experiences, as part of a fun team!
Duties and Responsibilities
- Take food and drink orders from tables in your assigned section
- Assist housemen and runners in setting up:
- buffets and food stations
- Ceremonies and various other dinners and events
- Conduct wine and coffee service in proper fashion
- Direct backwaiters to aid in proper service
- Greet members and guests and respond to requests in a friendly and courteous manner, bringing hospitality to every interaction
- Read, understand and execute Event Orders
- Follow checklists and Standard Operating Procedures
- Perform opening, mid-shift, and closing duties complying with Tuxedo Club's Events' operational standards
- Adhere to company uniform and grooming standards at all times
- Comply with all NYS Health and Safety codes with regards to Food and Beverage
- Perform any related duties as requested by the supervisor/manager
- Assist other departmental staff members when needed

Qualifications
- 1 year experience as a server/waitstaff
- Knowledge of POS systems (JONAS) preferred
- Basic knowledge of DOH regulations
- Team player with positive attitude and excellent communication skills with attention to detail
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time
- Energetic and professional
- Possesses a passion for exceeding member expectations with a commitment to excellence that results in providing the highest quality member and guest experience

Working Conditions
As a Server or Food Runner you may be in a full time or part time hourly position. It is expected that, at times, you may have to work on evenings, weekends, and/or holidays.
